Overview
This mobile application was designed as a final project in a User Design Interface course. This project was centered around defining a problem related to travel. This case study explores the problem of finding medical care overseas based on my personal experience while studying abroad.
Problem
There is a lack of resources for foreigners looking for medical care.
Navigating healthcare is difficult, especially when you’re not familiar with the region or the local language. Many medical clinics, hospitals, pharmacies and other medical facilities may be within reach - foreigners, may not know how to find them.
Solution
Research was conducted through interviews to understand pain points and opportunity areas for navigating medical care through a mobile application.
The design goals that came from this study included:
Accessibility: a comprehensive list of clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies based on location
Customizable search: filters to narrow search based on quality, distance, type of care, language, and hours
Current map: a map to show distance and provide directions
Personal health information: access to medication list, allergies, and health history
Emergency Call: direct connection to emergency services, foreign equivalent to 911
